I think it was sometime in 2008 when I began to consistently capture media with my Smartphone. I have been enamored with the ability to capture the moment with so little effort. Over the years I have invested in many different products for capturing these moments, for a while the smartphone had been ultra-convenient, but the quality was clearly not on par with dedicated alternatives. Today, that story has changed significanly.
I declared the war of the smartphone cameras to be over years ago. There was a time during which you could clearly pick an attribute in a photo or video and easily tell which was the better image. Today that ability has gone by the wayside. The top-tier smarthone products from all manufacturers today produce stunning images and video. Selection simply comes down to preference. Sophisticated lens technology, intelligent flash, dual-camera systems, etc. all lend themselves to creating a market segment that is ripe to destroy the DSLR movement.
