The Linux Streamer and Encoder Build

Introduction

I've decided what I want to do with my next build. Creating content for my social media presence has been a favorable experience. Predominently I use the iPhone as my recording device (various models). The quality from both the front-facing and rear cameras are really quite stunning. For mobile shooting there isn't anything that beats it. As I consider doing more by way of building things it occurs to me that things stand to become rather cumbersome if I try to use a bunch of phones to capture all of the angles that one would typically capture in these scenarios. So, I want to build an awesome platform for streaming and encoding to facilitate this need.

Components

The bill of materials for this build is identified as follows. At the time that I compose this list I'm unsure as to whether I'll order these online or go to the local Microcenter to pick them up. A part of me is really excited to get this done, so going to the store to get the components seems appealing. Another part of me doesn't want to be lugging boxes out of the store and to the car. Thinking ordering online is going to win out--even though it is always cool to get to spend some time in the computer store.
